Welcome to the Maltby News your new community newspaper?

Following the decision of the Maltby Community Development Trust to close the Maltby Mail and make the workforce redundant, the staff decided to produce their own publication? The new “Not-for-Profit” company was founded last month, and the new title registered. Unfortunately the Trust retain the rights to the old title, and so we have a new name, but that is all that has changed.

The Maltby News will carry on the tradition of a monthly newspaper delivered free to homes in Maltby and the surrounding villages. We will continue to report the good news. Our letters pages will, as always, be open to all and so we look forward to receiving your correspondence.

As we all know 2008 is set to be a big year for Maltby with work continuing on our new Services Centre, and the continuing facelift to the High Street. The Maltby News will be offering space in our columns for everyone’s opinion on what the town needs to make all our lives better.

Finally the staff would like to say a big thank-you to businesses in Maltby for supporting the new title with their advertising. We all look forward to bringing you the news you want to read and supporting local businesses.
